What’s your job title? Principal Accountant


How long have you been with Nth? 21 years. I was 6 months pregnant with my youngest when they hired me!


What does a typical day for you at Nth look like? Accounting with the goal of preparation of financial statements, MDF management, oversight of finance processes, city and state compliance, insurance compliance, financial audit compliance, and multi-state sales tax compliance. All with the goal of keeping the company legal and above board.


Which fellow Nth’er(s) inspire you and why? Joyce Russell (EVP/CFO) for her amazing energy to take on tough issues, and maintain grace and integrity in the process. Dwayne Gilliam (EVP Sales) for the same reason.


What led you to this career/working at Nth? Rich Baldwin (Founder, Chief Strategy Officer) was friends with my then boss at DSI and stole me. 😊


What are some of your favorite things about your job? Making a difference, safeguarding the company, and the many life-long relationships.


What is a work accomplishment you are proud of? After 21 years, I get to be a part of the big picture. By now, I’ve instituted or helped change processes. I am within the fabric of Nth and what makes it tick.


What motivates you at work? Friends, career movement, and watching Nth soar.


What is one of the biggest lessons you’ve learned in your career? That your career is like a marriage, it's full of ups and downs. The reward is in the journey and learning how to be steadfast.


What was your first job? Since I am bilingual, I was hired to sell Levi's jeans to Spanish-speaking clientele at the Escondido Swap Meet for Cal Stores that had a mini storefront there on the weekends.


What is the best career advice you’ve received? Add value to every task you take on.


What is your favorite place that you’ve travelled to? Kauai. Also Portland, OR in the early fall.


What is your favorite movie and/or book? It's hard to pick a favorite, but I loved the recent reboot of Top Gun!


Describe your ideal weekend. Enjoying a yummy cup of coffee without a care in the world. Magically, my yard looks beautifully manicured. I got in a great hike and a Pickleball game, and also got to go out on the town. I think I might need 3-day weekends.


What famous person or historical figure would you most like to meet and why? Jesus because I have so many questions.


What 3 items would you bring with you to a deserted island? A boat, gas, and a machete

What is your perfect meal? Hot, sizzling pepperoni pizza and a perfect bean and cheese burrito.


What is the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? Vegemite. I don’t recommend it.


What do you like to do for fun? Play Pickleball, hike, camp, go to happy hours with friends, entertain


What was your first concert? First cassette tape? Billy Idol was the first concert, Pat Benatar was my first first 8-track


What fictional character(s) do you most relate to? My sister, Ahna, often tells me that she and I are Elsa and Anna from Frozen.
