Jan Baldwin founded Nth Generation Consulting in 1994, leading the organization for ten successful years through 2006 when it merged with Nth Generation. Formerly, she was the Executive Vice President of Nth Generation and in 2011 she was named CEO.
She earned a Master of Science Degree in Executive Leadership from the University of San Diego, where she researched the business value and strategy of cloud computing. Her work is instrumental in charting Nth Generation’s business strategy. For instance, in 2008, Nth committed to becoming a leader and trusted advisor to clients in the global shift toward cloud computing. Since then, Nth Generation has become one of HPE’s first “Cloud Centers of Excellence” in the United States, and has received similar recognition from other industry giants including VMware and CommVault.
Jan serves as Nth Generation’s leader and primary advocate. She works with Nth’s Board of Directors and Executive Team creating strategies to ensure the company fulfills its mission paving the road for a bright future for the company and its clients.
Chief Strategy Officer
Richard Baldwin began his technology career in 1968, programming business applications for IBM System 360 mainframe computers. After working for San Diego Trust-Savings Bank’s IT department, and for GE Software International, he spent 14 years building UserWare.
In the late 1980’s, Rich started and successfully managed three companies, including Nth Generation Computing, which he founded in 1991. Nth developed a focus on StorageWorks in the early 1990’s and has since become the leading Hewlett Packard Enterprise server, storage, software, networking, and desktop virtualization specialist in the Western United States. Nth is also an elite business partner with VMware, Commvault, Intel, Microsoft, and other leading suppliers. Rich’s vision, fueled by his commitment to cutting-edge technology, client education, service and support, and technical excellence, was the key to taking Nth from a one-man start-up to the multi-million dollar enterprise it is today.
Chief Technology Officer
Dan has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, and has been with Nth Generation since 2000. He is responsible for Nth’s Research and Development initiatives, as well as helping to identify, research, evaluate, and incorporate leading-edge IT technologies into Nth’s solutions and services portfolio.
Dan completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at UCSD in 1992 and a Master’s of Science Degree in Executive Leadership at USD in 2009. As part of his Master’s Program, Dan completed multiple research papers and presentations on the emerging Cloud Computing megatrend starting in 2008. He was a business owner for over 5 years, and has developed widely adopted ASIC‐testing software while working as a Software Engineer at Hughes Aircraft.
Dan brings extensive design and consulting experience in the areas of Converged and Virtual Infrastructure, Data Protection, Business Continuity, Software Defined Data Center, Mobility, Security, Big Data Analytics, Hybrid Clouds, and other related Enterprise IT solutions. Dan is a multi-year Finalist for the San Diego Tech Executive of the Year Award.
Executive Vice President &
Chief Financial Officer
Joyce joined Nth Generation Computing in July of 2011, bringing over 30 years of Finance experience in the IT Industry. She is responsible for Operations, Finance, Accounting, and Payroll & Benefits.
Joyce earned her BS in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. She served for over a decade as the Chief Financial Officer for San Diego Data Processing, a non-profit provider of technology services. As a member of the Senior Management Team, she was heavily involved in strategic planning, and responsible for budgeting, financial planning, accounting, treasury, administration, procurement, and the rate negotiation process.
Joyce is a trusted advisor of the Executive Team, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in Strategic & Operational Planning, Financial Planning & Analysis, General Accounting, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Corporate-Level legal matters.
Senior Vice President of Sales
Dwayne joined Nth Generation in early 2015 as the Senior Vice President of Sales. Dwayne oversees the Sales and Business Development teams at Nth and is part of the Executive Management Team, where he is responsible for helping to drive the overall strategy and focus for our customers via the our Sales Organization.
Dwayne received his Bachelors from USC and his Masters from Biola University. He started his career working at Xerox, where he worked for 8 years. He worked at EMC for 7 years before moving to FusionStorm. Dwayne has had ample experience working with Integrators. He most recently worked for HP as the Director of Emerging Growth Markets for the U.S.
VP of Technical Services
Todd Burkhardt has been with Nth Generation since 1993, and has the dubious distinction of being Nth’s first hired employee. He oversees Nth’s pre-sales engineering team, systems integration, project management, and internal IT. During his time with Nth Generation, Todd has developed the engineering team into a full-service IT organization.
Todd attended Coleman University, where he earned a Degree in Computer Programming. Prior to narrowing his scope to engineering and IT at Nth Generation, Todd was responsible for shipping, receiving, integration, data center build-outs and moves, phones, internet, facilities, security, technical team management, and customer support. As a result, he has a strong understanding of the people and processes required to run the company efficiently.
Todd is a pivotal member of the Strategic Team that charted Nth Generation’s Mission, Vision, Values and Strategy. He currently sits on the Corporate E-team and continues to help drive the strategic direction of the company, while also bringing a “Customer First” approach to our decision-making processes.
Director of Operations and Business Applications
Stephanie joined Nth Generation Computing in August of 2000 as a Purchasing Assistant. During her fifteen-plus year tenure, she has developed and grown with the company and is now responsible for Inside Sales, Service Contracts, Purchasing, Invoicing, Operations, and Internal Business Applications. Stephanie is the expert on the financial aspects of our partner programs, pricing rules, and rebates.
Stephanie attended San Diego State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. Prior to joining Nth Generation Computing, she was the Operations Manager for SpeedPlay Inc., where she was responsible for raw component inventory, manufacturing, subassemblies and processes, purchasing, and sales. As a manager in a start-up company, her responsibilities were broad, and she was a key contributor to developing and streamlining new processes. Her experience has made her a valued member of Nth’s Executive Team.
Director of Marketing
Sara Galloway started at Nth Generation in 2017. As a member of the Executive Team – and leader of Marketing and Account Development – she implements, executes, and advances goals that align with the company’s strategic direction. Her scope of responsibilities includes: elevating the Nth brand, strategic leadership for all marketing initiatives, overseeing Nth’s renowned five-star events (including an Annual Technology Symposium), and has built a team of Account Development Specialists, that continue to move the needle forward for the future of Nth.
Sara moved to Southern California from Chicago in 2014, bringing with her over 20 years of experience in branding, public relations, marketing, graphic design, photography, and more. She has worked with multiple ad agencies, and within numerous industries, including: investment banking (Sara held a Series 7 Stockbrokers License); the most elite, commercial real estate agency in Chicago; Fortune 500 companies; and more. Sara’s work was featured in numerous art galleries throughout Chicago and the Midwest. She was also a featured artist on HGTV. Sara was nominated and appointed an honorary partner position on the Hewlett Packard Marketing Advisory Board.
Director of Human Resources & Shared Services
Karen Wood is in her second tour at Nth Generation. During Karen’s first tour at Nth, from 2009 to 2016, her main areas of focus included strategic participation as a member of the executive leadership team, human resources management, oversight of the shared services/administration team, and coordination of the company’s written responses to requests for proposals. Karen returned in August of 2019 and is continuing her 7th year with the company. Her primary focus is to build upon the company’s already existing robust culture through innovative human resources services, policies and systems that touch all aspects of the employment lifecycle. Prior to her return, Karen served as the HR Business Partner at EDF Renewable Energy, a market leading independent power producer and service provider. In that role, Karen partnered with the leaders of Grid-Scale Power, Distributed Energy Solutions, Technical Services, IT, Finance, HR and Communications as a strategic resource, aligning people strategy to business objectives.
Karen is a San Diego native. She holds a BA in Philosophy from the University of San Diego; a Juris Doctor from Western State University, School of Law; a Human Resources Management Certification from Cal State, San Marcos; a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Human Resources Capital Institute (HRCI); a SHRM-Certified Professional certification (SHRM-CP) from the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM); and an HR Business Partner (HRBP) Certification from the Human Capital Institute (HCI).
